Catriona Staddon, Proprietor

Having always loved food and cooking, opening Marynka was a total career change and the achievement of a life-long ambition for Catriona. Until very recently she has followed her interests in the kitchen for both the restaurant and outside catering. Now she is running the business, and managing the front-of-house alongside Cath Corrie, with occasional evenings in the kitchen.

David Nisbet

As one of the founding partners, David created the atmosphere in the restaurant that is informal, relaxed and enjoyable. The wine list is his other creation - and his great passion.

David bowed out of the business in early 2006, but he continues to provide advice and inspiration for the wine list.

Lee Murdoch, Co-Head Chef

Lee joined Marynka in September 2001 after a successful career in the hotel industry in Edinburgh. He is highly creative and draws on influences from around the world to develop interesting and imaginative dishes.


Doug Elliman, Co-Head Chef

Doug hails from Australia, by way of Orpheus Island and Wales and has been with Marynka since October 2001. Doug brings his own unique talents to the kitchen and exploits these to create popular and original dishes.


Cath Corrie, Assistant Manager

Cath has been at Marynka since May 2005 following a family break from her previous career in hotel management. She gives a cheerful and friendly welcome to every customer and ensures everyone enjoys their visit.
